Welcome to the home of DELTA Data Systems.
DELTA chromatography data systems and DELTA Flo
continuous flow / FIA data systems have been serving the needs of analysts since
1987.
The first (unnamed) version of DELTA Flo was actually in use
from 1985. It used our first humble little 12 bit external data interface to
collect the analog data from the detectors. After the success of DELTA Flo we
set about creating a chromatography data system using the same 12 bit data
interface. It was at this time that DELTA was first used as the name of our data
systems; derived from the traditional use of the Greek symbol
D in the mathematics of integration.
The chromatography data systems are simply named Delta while the flow analysis
systems fall under the Delta Flo banner.
Over the years the software has of course been revised and
improved many times. DELTA 5.5 is the current release of the chromatography data
system, while DELTA Flo version 4.0 is the 32 bit Windows release of the
continuous flow data systems.
The same pr
ogression
has occurred for our hardware interfaces; starting firstly with our 12 bit
serial interface, to a 20 bit four channel full length ISA bus interface card
followed by a half length 20 bit six channel interface card.
While our 20 bit interfaces were far more suited to
chromatography than the early 12 bit data interface, we were more and more at
the mercy of ever changing PC bus standards. From ISA to Micro-channel, EISA,
local bus and finally the PCI bus. When it came time once again to re-visit the
design of our data interface we chose to break the links that bound us to the
mercy of the hardware bus designers and design an interface that would allow us
to target our software to any computer or operating system whether
Windows, Linux (or other unixes) or Macintosh. With this in mind we
designed the fourth generation DataCenter 4000
interface to use the ubiquitous Universal Serial Bus (USB) which has long been
the only interface available on Mac PC's and is now the interface of favour for
IBM compatible PCs. As a fallback, we also included a serial interface in the
little power packed DataCenter 4000.
Which brings us to ... today. If your interest is
chromatography then click on the DELTA link to learn more about our
chromatography data systems. If you are a continuous flow or flow injection
analyst then click on the Delta Flo link for information on our flow analysis
systems. If you have an interest in general laboratory data collection or
interfacing whether analog or digital then follow the DataCenter 4000 link to
learn more about the powerhouse that is the DataCenter 4000...
